The tour runs when
enough of us say go.
Most great Egypt tours never depart — no one can fill them alone. On Sawa, a date can be started by a verified operator or by you, and travelers pool onto it from everywhere. Four travelers, and it's confirmed for everyone.
Three steps from a maybe to a confirmed trip.
Watch the same departure fill up on the right as you read each step.
A date gets started — by an operator, or by you
A licensed Egyptian operator lists a date they'd love to run — or a traveler starts one right on any tour page: pick the tour, pick your day, and it becomes a departure others can join. No upfront cost, no risk: it only departs if the group forms.
Travelers join from everywhere
You and a friend, a couple from Berlin, an agency's three — all land on one shared departure. Everyone sees the seats fill in real time, and the price stays fixed no matter how the group is sourced.
Four travelers, and the gold dot turns on
The minute the fourth traveler joins, the date locks and everyone gets the GoAhead. Payments are released to the operator, the trip is certain, and you travel together. If it never reaches four, nobody is charged.
Nile Cruise · Luxor to Aswan
5-day sailing · departs 01 Oct
The whole idea fits inside one mark.
The circle, the route and the gold dot each stand for a piece of how a shared departure works.
Four travelers
The four dots are the minimum to confirm a departure. Below four it stays a plan — at four it becomes a trip.
One shared route
The S-path is the single journey everyone is on. Different operators, different travelers — one road, one guide, one group.
GoAhead
The single gold dot is the moment of truth. When it lights up, your tour is confirmed, paid and really running.
Whether you're going or guiding.
Sawa is one shared departure seen from two sides — the traveler taking a seat, and the operator running the trip.

- You run the tour; Sawa handles matching & payments
- Get paid the moment the group hits GoAhead
The rules that protect everyone on board.
You only pay if it runs
Your payment is held securely and only released to the operator once the departure reaches GoAhead. No confirmation, no charge.
Every operator is verified
Every operator on Sawa is registered with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities and vetted and rated by us before a single departure goes live — never freelancers or unregistered guides, as open marketplaces often allow. You always know who you're travelling with.
Small groups, fixed price
Departures are capped at a small size — usually 4 to 8 — and your price never changes based on how the group fills up.
Real dates, no bait
Every date on the board is real — listed by a verified operator, or started by a traveler and reviewed by our team before it opens. If a group doesn't form, you're refunded in full or moved to the next date — your choice.
Good to know
What exactly is a "shared departure"?
One tour, on one date, filled by travelers pooled from several verified operators instead of just one. Same boat, same guide, same price for everyone.
Can I start my own date?
Yes. Every tour page has a "start your own date" option — pick the day that suits you and it becomes a departure others can join. Our team reviews each new date before it appears, and nothing is charged unless it reaches GoAhead.
When is a trip confirmed?
The moment four travelers join the same date. That's the GoAhead — the date locks and the trip is certain to run.
What if a date doesn't reach four?
You're never charged for a trip that doesn't run. You get a full refund or a free move to the next departure — whichever you prefer.
Who will I travel with?
A small mix of travelers — typically 4 to 8 — with one licensed guide for the whole group throughout the trip.
How do payments work?
You reserve now and pay securely through Sawa. Funds are only released to the operator once the departure is confirmed.
Can operators set their own price?
Yes. Operators publish the itinerary and price; Sawa keeps it fixed for every traveler regardless of how the seats are sourced.
